Source: Article Snatch

This answer to this question is not that simple as it depends on a user as well as the type of application he or she intends to design. While you can use Joomla for sites with much complex structures involved, WordPress is more used in sites which are not that complex.

WordPress is far less complicated than Joomla which involves a lot of it but the extensions it offers are far more than what WordPress has to offer. So it all depends on whether you want to go for easy posting of WordPress or the full fledged structuring offered by Joomla.

Both of them are unique in the services they provide and it is you who will best decide on which works best for you. As we proceed through the article you will be provided with an idea which will help you decide on which will suite your need the best.

It is a general perception that Joomla is more popular among those users who prefer a full on content website, for example providing multiple levels of people to provide updates to the site. Whereas WordPress is preferred in places where you are always looking to either publish or produce a lot of daily content very frequently.

Moreover Joomla is favourable for its different levels of user control and extensions. WordPress on the other hand is confined only to three levels of control and not more. You might however be at sea with all the complexities involved in Joomla and is difficult for beginners to cope up with this initially.

Another very important factor with regard to the two is that Joomla has a number of modules, components which are complex by nature to monitor and install but WordPress only has a number of installable plugins which can be easily put to use at any point of time without going to much into the technical details of the Content Management System (CMS).

As a matter of fact Joomla is always a bothering for beginners but general people without too much of a technical knowledge about all this generally prefer WordPress as it does not take them much time to become a master at it.

Working at the back end becomes easier with WordPress and not so with Joomla. Adding of widgets, plugins and SEO is also easier in with WordPress than with Joomla. Also the plugins offered by Joomla are outdated to some extent and poorly coded.

Changing the look or feel of a site can be easily accomplished. Most importantly starting and maintenance of a blog is far less complicated in WordPress as it offers a convenient way to do it.

Although some believe that Joomla is easier to install on the contrary WordPress takes far less time in getting installed and running live. Also as far as templates are concerned WordPress has the largest number of online templates available. It is more like an application rather than a CMS.

As far as SEO friendliness goes WordPress scores over Joomla as because it has native support for canonical URLs and search engine friendly titles with superior XML sitemaps. Joomla however provides ease in handling Googles Adsense which is not that effectively done with WordPress.

It is to be understood well here that although WordPress is very known for the functionalities it offers, but you will always need Joomla for large capacity work and if you are trying to build a large enough system. WordPress can be handled by a team of just over a few and here lies the ease in managing the resources involved in it. Also it does not require a lot of experience for that matter.Popular Posts:

Among web designers there is no news that Joomla is the specialization one needs to be a web development wizard. This web design based tool, was first released in 2005 and it is an Open Source System for managing content for web sites. Joomla website designbecame shortly the main specialization for the highest rated companies for web development. The global enterprises that need powerful sites to rank highly in the search engines are looking to offshore outsourcing, especially in India.

Lately India has the largest pool in terms of Joomla component development specialized companies. Their goal is to educate as many specialists in Joomla cms development, this way they can offer a services package which no enterprise can refuse. There are some advantages that a company based in India specialized in Joomla component developmenthas to offer that all sites owner should take under advisement.

Great balance between costs and efficiency

The main idea of offshore outsourcing has emerged on the marketing market starting with the need of cutting back the costs. Particularly, outsourcing in India is a well established strategy for companies that want great results in web development at reduced budget. The education system in India is focused in providing experts in Joomla cms developmentthat also has very good English skills and they are willing to work at lower rates than their fellows from US or Europe.

Short time to complete service delivery

It is no doubt about it that Joomla is one of the requirements that a big powerful enterprise looks for into a web development company to outsource his optimization operations. Still, the companies from India that have as main profile joomla component development offer a big plus, aside the low cost charged for their services over similar companies located in US or Europe: the time to deliver complete service is very short. This way the enterprise that outsourcers its web development needs to one of these companies from India benefits of low priced services and very quick results. In reality, the first on market that lunches the best site has much to gain. Time is a main factor to consider in the high speed lives we all lead lately.

Highest quality services

We already stated that Joomla component development companies based in India provide services at the low prices within short time to deliver, but the general concept is that low price means low quality. This does not apply in this particular case. The experts hired by these companies ensure the quality of their results. In India there are cities that function as veritable diamante sources of Joomla experts. In addition to that their English skills are well above their colleagues from Europe or Mid-West.

E-Commerce sites, Online Catalogs, robust and dynamic sites, online newspapers and magazines, government applications, portals for social and business communities, corporate intranet and extranets are much more examples can be provided to show the wide applicability of Joomla website design tools put at your disposal by joomlawebdevelopments company.

Source: Articlesnatch

Introduction
The main concept behind this article is the steps that lead to Designing and developing of Joomla based SEO websites. The first work to be done before going through the steps is to install standard version of Joomla along with some mandatory installation of other essential components (URL changing SEF and sitemap component).

Importance of SEF URL changing component
Search Engine Friendly is abbreviated as SEF. At the time of Joomla installation, the URL is: index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=6′. Standard URL of Joomla does not explain anything related to the contents of the webpage. This feature also called SOS (Search Optimization Stunted) is disliked by most users. SEF URL Changing component plays a huge role in removing this discrepancy. It takes the standard URL and modifies it to become meaningful for a general viewer, e.g. purchase-red-bag-here.html’. The drawback that is associated to SEF is that there is a concealed advert in coding from their respective developer. SEF does an acceptable task of transforming Joomla URL’s to SEF, still the chances of duplication of many URL is there.

Installing SEF URL converting component
SEF URL converter can be installed using interface of Joomla Administration. After installation it is to be checked that Search Engine Friendly URL’s’ is positioned Yes’ in Site->Global Configuration->SEO (tab)’. It is to be ensured that the file htaccess.txt’ of the root directory during Joomla installation is transformed to .htaccess and then follow the simple instruction for turning mod_rewrite’ on. It should be followed by going to JoomSEF Component and Configuration’ for turning it on. After the complete procedure, less confusing URL’s can easily be generated.

Sitemap Installation
Working out a Sitemap is the next process following SEF installation. The legitimate component of Sitemap is Joomap. Standard Joomap’ version has no output for a file of XML format of a Search engine. Hence, it is advisable to download a Joomap patch’, which has similar installing procedure as SEF URL’s converting component. There is no configuration required after installing Joomap patch. Now, it is left on us to select and include the menu we desire in Sitemap. Top Menu and Main Menu are generally included. Creation of fresh Items in Menu and selecting the linking components are the task that follows. This leads to getting Joomap and the procedures that are left undergoes automatically.

Importance of Joomap
One big advantage that is associated with Joomap is the way it permits to hooking up with Sitemaps of different search engine websites. Admin interface have the URL of Sitemap of search engine website. Now the thing required to do for generating a dynamic sitemap of the search engine website, is to paste the URL in the webmaster interface of the website. At the end of the procedure when the search engine requires downloading the sitemap of your website, it acquires a version that is dynamic in nature. Joomap allows the search engines to get the information of all the pages connected to your website for effective scanning procedure from them.

Source: Articlesbase

In defining the co-relation of Joomla and SEO, it is important to know that one of the major advantages of running the Joomla content management system is the fact that you can download and install a number of different sitemap components that will on configuration automatically display the contents of your web site in a site-map format to the visitors as well as the search engine spiders. It is heartening to note that in looking towards this as a requirement, Google has itself endorsed the need for the inclusion of a sitemap on the website and has accordingly created the option Google Sitemaps.

It is very imperative that prior to creating a sitemap, we ensure that the page titles, meta descriptions and the SEO clearly reflects the contents of your individual page. This will then assist the site visitors and search engine spiders to understand the contents of the web page, and be able to index as well as rank it accordingly.

Now, when writing the contents for the Joomla web-site, you must create it for the users and not the search engines. In other words, you will have to focus on creating the contents relevant to your web-site on a Joomla template site rather than focus on writing content for the Joomla templates itself. This is where most fail to create a demarcation. In Joomla, it is worthwhile making the targeted keywords in H1 and H2 for highlighting, which otherwise have no significance in SEO. Once you have defined your target audience, irrespective of the search engine being used, try and build up a list of sites with similar interests.

Lastly, if in Joomla you are not using sections and categories for the static page/s, then do create a generic section for these as a website content. In fact, create separate categories for each static page.Popular Posts:

What is a Web Content Management System ?

A content management system (CMS) is a software system designed for organizing and easing creation and management of documents and other content. By content, we mean any type of digital information : text, images, graphics, audio, video files, archives etc. Specifically, a web content management system like Joomla! aims to facilitate the tasks required to publish web content on web sites, in a collaborative manner.

What can I do with Joomla! ?

Joomla! is a free open source content management system licensed under the GNU/GPL license which can be used to easily manage every aspect of a website, from adding content or graphics, to updating a product catalogue or managing important data. Joomla!, which means “all together” in Swahili, is a powerful, flexible, customisable, powerful and relatively easy to use Web Content Management System. To create and run a website site using Joomla!, all you need is a web hosting account with PHP and MySql support. Joomla!s use and scope is very large, from the creation and management of personal homepages or small businesses to complex enterprise-level websites or applications. It allows numerous themes and extensions (most of them will have to be installed and activated afer the main installation though). The template system is one of the easiest to learn in the Content Management System family. It offers two types of administration – a front-end for registered users, author and publisher and a back-end for the Manager, Administrator and Super Administrator groups.

A Brief History of Joomla!

Joomla! arrived in 2005 as a branch of another well-known CMS, Mambo after an epic controversy between the Mambo’s development team at that time and the Miro Corporation, which also develops its own commercial version, accused of betraying open-source and community values by granting most of the project’s control and future to Miro Corporation via the recently launched Mambo’s Foundation. As there were also several issues with Mambo’s name and copyright, all of this finally led the core team to resign from the Mambo project in August 2005, regrouped under the name of “Open Source Matters” in order to develop the project independently. The two code bases were almost identical at this stage but the latest version, Joomla! 1.5, has now been completely rewritten from scratch. Joomla! now powers millions of websites world-wide and its community is very active. Both Joomla! and Mambo have won numerous prizes and awards in the last three years and now live two separate lives.Popular Posts:

It is important to understand the vital points for Joomla while you are planning to install an effective content management system for the purpose of web development. The best thing about Joomla Component Development is that it is such open source software which can be understood even by a person with average web development knowledge. Thus, even a new bee won’t have problems in managing joomla cms development.

Now, most of the web developers ask the question as to, what is Joomla mostly suitable for. The answer is, it is basically meant for the businesses that belong to a medium of smaller size. However, with the changed thinking of web developers even large sized companies want to make use of this particular software. You name it and Joomla has it. There is everything right from adding content, managing content, adding images and adding certain web design components.

Businesses which outsource content depend completely on Joomla web development and all theaspects of Joomla. It means that people find that Joomla is really a dependable option now and it has been considered as an affordable option as well. Some people in this field may not have advanced computer knowledge. But even they find that Joomla is really a very simple program and due to its directives and instructions they find the instructions handy to use. Many people who are new face issues with the developmental plans and the software but thanks to the big supporter community that such issues can be resolved effectively and immediately. The cost perspectives should be looked into while making the necessary choices but still, the comparative options that are available at Joomla do help in taking the necessary action.

Joomla has an amazing community support and thus in case when you face any problems using the same, there won’t be a problem because you can take help of the members belonging to these particular comminutes. Today, outsourcing has really become cheap and the main two reasons for this are, Joomla program affordability along with man power cheapness has contributed in making things quite affordable. Thus content management system has become really quite cheap and affordable now and this has to be really quite dependable now. With Joomla making website bug free is very much possible. There are so many plug ins, which have been developed by the developer forums and communities to make the developmental programs for web more effective and efficient.

The main work of search engines are to make the website popular and it can only be done if the content is fresh. The more fresh content you upload on the websites the more favorable it’s for any search engine to trace you. Through these Joomla development companies it becomes quite easier for search engines to find you. Joomla management system is indeed an effective choice that one should make. You do not even require any technical professional to work on this management system, in fact it can be handled and done by the business owners themselves.Popular Posts:

A Content Management System (CMS) is a system used to manage the content of a Web Site.

Websites provide information. Whether you sell products or services, or your site is educational or commercial in nature, content is king. Few websites are truly static and even fewer should be.

Source: ArticlesBase

As the internet continues to grow as a place to do business, more and more businesses are opting to use a CMS (Content Management System) as their website platform. For several reasons, those needing the advantages of content management systems are abandoning traditional html websites.

Consistency

A CMS like WordPress or Joomla allows universal settings to be applied to each new page as it is added to the site. This saves time and money as the content can be simply pasted in without reinventing the wheel each time to make that page match the rest of the web site. With traditional html sites, such things as background, fonts and colors, and universal links must be written into the code of the page for each page of the web site. A CMS stores these attributes and automatically applies them to new content.

Adaptability

A traditional web site is usually structured like stacking blocks. Removing a crucial block can cause many more blocks to tumble down. For business owners, this means making alterations to a traditional site can be a dangerous proposition. Since new material must be added and obsolete material deleted more frequently than with a static information web site, such a solution is far from ideal. A CMS is designed with this specific need in mind. Instead of being stacked, the “blocks” are independent of one another and simply labeled to sort them into categories. This not only protects them from inadvertent deletion, but allows the owner of the site to have more control over the search and navigation of the site.

Where the Web Designer Comes in

A quality web designer is an incredible asset to a business owner. When installing a content management system, the web designer can quickly customize the appearance and function of the site. This allows the site owner to have a unique site that meets his or her personal needs without being forced to maintain an on-staff web designer to add or delete things from the site. Being able to make a one time investment in a good web site is one of the biggest advantages of a CMS over traditional web site coding. In addition to the single investment of a CMS, the initial investment also tends to be smaller than a traditional site. Content management systems have modules, or plug-ins that perform a myriad of functions. Instead of paying for the designer’s time to painstakingly code the specific feature needed, the site owner pays a small licensing fee for a pre-coded solution. Being able to select from a list of pre-made tools makes determining exactly WHAT the web site should do far easier.

Anyone who needs a web site that is unique and customized, but able to be easily updated would be wise to consider having a web designer install a CMS as their site platform.Popular Posts:
