Posted on October 29th, 2010 5 commentsBy Ray Proctor
1. Within your Joomla administration panel you will see Components. Scroll down Components until you come to Polls and click on Polls, and then click on new. To the left hand side you will be able to fill in a title for your pole eg rate this website. Do not forget to also tick the publish box directly beneath the title. To the right hand side you will be able to fill in a variety of options within the provided boxes eg in the first box you could put in excellent, in the second box you can put in very good and so on, and so on. Do not forget to click on save above before exiting.
2. Within your Joomla administration panel now click on Modules, and click on New. Choose Poll from the list and fill in the details. To the left hand side you will be able to specify a name for this module under title, a name which could be the same as specified above but you can also choose not to show this title on your website if need be, by ticking the appropriate box. The other main options here are ( a ) enabled – it must be enabled for you to see it on your website ( b ) position – choose where you want to place it on your website eg left, right, user 1, user 2, banner and so on ( c ) Menu Assigment – which pages you want the poll to appear on within your website eg home, about us, contact us and so on. To the right hand side you will see a drop down menu and it will contain your newly created Poll. Make sure you choose it, and do not forget to click on save above and you are done.
